Stars come out as BET Honors 2009 kicks off Inauguration Week in Chocolate City



(BlackPressMagazine) - In what has become of the best new award show for African Americans, the BET HONORS kicked off Inauguration '09 Weekend with an exhilarating evening complete with all the trappings of Hollywood.

Only in its second year, the BET Honors wowe the crowd at the taping of the show as it dedicated awards to R&B singer Mary J. Blige, Black filmmaker Tyler Perry, former NBA star turned business mogul Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, the
Honorable Congressman James E. Clyburn, Black social lifestyle diva B. Smith and legendary Black dancer Judith Jamison of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

The event was hosted by actress Gabrielle Union, the Second Annual "BET HONORS" and features appearances by music legend Stevie Wonder, music producer Sean "Diddy" Combs, actors Terrence Howard, Hill Harper, Samuel L. Jackson, Angela Bassett, rapper Queen Latifah, crooners Anthony Hamilton, Anita Baker, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, Monica, Joss Stone, Yolanda Adams and members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

"THE BET HONORS" Premieres Monday, February 9 at 9:00 P.M.*
